17 PH senators say no to pork

Senate president Franklin Drilon announced that the Senate will decide in a caucus on Wednesday whether they will take an individual or collective stand to abolish the pork barrel.
He revealed that 17 senators are for the total abolishment of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel, but that the Senate must still discuss the issue in caucus. Drilon said they must decide whether the choice of deleting PDAF allotment will be reserved for each individual senator to make or be decided upon as a group.

Because of the sensitivity of the issue, the senate president opted to postpone the caucus, originally scheduled on Monday, until all senators are present.
In addition to the PDAF allotment, Drilon also said he wanted a caucus to decide whether or not to summon pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Napoles to the Senate probe and to discuss a possible timetable for the Freedom of Information (FOI) bill.
