A self-parking car!!!
by FFE Tech News Staff
Volvo ‘s newest concept car does not need a driver to find a parking space. Its smart car can interact safely with other cars, pedestrians and curbs.
After arriving at the designated destination, the driver can get off the car and via a mobile app command the car to find a vacant parking slot to park itself. The vehicle uses sensors to find and navigate its way to a free parking space and then sends the driver a notification. When the car is needed again the driver will just need to command the car to pick him up at a pick up place. It is more like a modern version of Zorro and his horse Tornado.
However, car owners won’t see this technology anytime soon. As Volvo Senior Safety Advisor Thomas Broberg explained on the Volvo’s blog, “technologies are still being developed. However, we will take the first steps towards our leadership aim by introducing the first features with autonomous steering in the all-new Volvo XC90, which will be revealed at the end of 2014.”
