Aquino personally thanks world Leaders

Malacañang deputy spokesman Abigail Valte revealed that President Aquino personally called up several world leaders on Friday to thank them for all the help they have given to bring relief to the victims of typhoon Yolanda.
The spokesman said ‘The President did mention that he, as well as the Filipinos, is very thankful for all the expressions of solidarity by our neighbors, our neighboring countries. And the President thanked them for all the help that they had given to our country.’
She added that Aquino spoke to Mexico, Australia, Japan, Israel and the World Bank (WB) over the phone during a meeting. The leaders of the countries likewise said that they are ready to send more help if needed.
Valte revealed that Aquino and WB president Jim-yong Kim also talked about details of the $500memergency loan the organisation will be releasing for the Philippines. A $480m in financial assistance for rehabilitation efforts was earlier granted by the WB.
Kim also informed Aquino that the WB is considering investment projects to support reconstruction efforts in the country.
WB said that they have been ‘encouraged by the resilience of the Filipino people and the determination shown by President Aquino and his team as they work to recover from a disaster of unprecedented scale.
‘The World Bank Group is committed to supporting the government’s efforts to rebuild people’s lives no matter how long it takes.’
