Austria-Germany lines undergo repairs
Austrians and Germans who take the regional Salzburg-Munich line better prepare themselves for some changes over the coming weekends.
Regional trains plying the Salzburg-Rosenheim-Munich routes will be closed over the weekends of October 19-20, October 26-27 and November 2-3 due to repairs. Long distance trains that pass by the routes will also be diverted, which will lead to longer journeys.
Passengers who take Railjet trains from Vienna to Munich will be diverted to Linz and Passau. Passengers from Budapest to Innsbruck will also be diverted to Zell. Trains from Klagenfurt to Munich will likewise be diverted to Mühldorf. The diversions will add an extra 20-70 minutes to the journey.
Passengers are advised to check the new train times and routes via www.oebb.at or call 05-1717 before travelling.
The repairs on the said weekends will start every Fridays at 10pm and end on the following Monday mornings. Buses will be available for passengers affected by the repairs.
