The Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced it is now accepting nominees for their 2014 Search for Outstanding Public Officials and Employees.
The award is the highest recognition the government gives to people or groups that have shown excellence and dedication to public service. There are three categories where people can be nominated:
- Presidential Lingkod Bayad Award for people or groups whose work has made significant nationwide impact.
- Outstanding Public Officials and Employees (Dangal ng Bayan) Award for people or groups that have shown top performance, extraordinary acts of public service or shown ethical behaviour based on the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
- CSC Pagasa Award for people or groups whose contributions have benefited more than one government department.
This award started in 1959 as a way to recognise dedicated public servants who have improved the quality and efficiency of government activities. It serves to inspire government employees to better their performance and deepen their involvement in public service. Winners of the award are given a special trophy or certificate and cash prize up to Php200,000.
