DFA opens passport fast lane for more Minors
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced yesterday that it has just changed the age limit of minors who avail of the Passport Courtesy Lane Facility with their parents.
Children 7 years old and below can now apply for passports with their parents in the Courtesy Lane Facility. The old age limit for minors was infants aged 1 and below. This new rule is effective immediately.
The Courtesy Lane Facility will now accept passport applications of children aged 7 and below for evaluation and processing. They do not need to make an appointment for their personal appearance at the DFA Aseana Passport Division.
They will still be subject to the standard requirements and procedures under the Philippine Passport Act of 1996 and the Implementing Rules and Regulations under Department Order No 11-97.
The Courtesy Lane Facility is available to incumbent government employees, their legal spouse, their parents and their children. It is also available to senior citizens, person with disability (PWD) and pregnant women. For a full list of requirements to avail of the facility, visit DFA’s Courtesy Lane Facility Availment.
