DFA to passport applicants: observe temporary release Dates
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has just issued a notice to the public saying they will release passports later than their usual dates. The reason behind this is system maintenance to improve their service.
According to the DFA, technical maintenance of the e-Passport system will be done to prevent system breakdowns and malfunction of passport services. The new scheme for passport release will begin on 1 April 2014.
Here is the schedule for the new scheme:
The DFA reiterated that the new scheme is only temporary and that release dates are expected to return to the old scheme by 15 April.
The DFA is asking for everyone’s understanding and co-operation as it provides better services for passport applicants in the country and abroad.
