No distance too far for Alex de Rossi and Mum
Contrary to her villainous portrayals on TV, Alessandra de Rossi is actually a very caring, optimistic and bubbly person in real life. This positivity is reflected in her relationship with her Filipina mother Nenita Tiotangco-Schiavone, who is currently based in Italy with husband Luigi Schiavone.
Alessandra, or Alex, shared in a post-Mother’s Day interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) that she called her mum last Sunday to greet her happy Mother’s Day.
The gesture was a simple one compared to other celebrities who have tried to leave a special mark for their loved ones this Mother’s Day. However, for Alex and her mum, the simple call is part of a consistent habit that keeps them closer despite the distance between them — a habit that holds more meaning than a single day of celebration.
The same simplicity was kept by the family even before Nenita moved to Italy: ‘Noong nandito pa siya sa Pilipinas, sa bahay lang kami kapag Mother’s Day. Kakain lang kami, siya ang magluluto. Hindi naman kami maokasyon na tao.
‘Sa amin ng mommy ko, every day is Mother’s Day.’
She confessed that, despite the regular calls, ‘Sobrang nami-miss ko siya… oo naman siyempre!’ But it helps for Alex to treat every day as Mother’s Day as a way to keep in touch with her family in Italy and to show her care and concern despite the distance.
