Expect Eurostar to open up a direct line from London to Amsterdam by December 2016. Travel website breakingtravelnews.com has just revealed that Eurostar has signed a deal with Dutch railways to connect London and Amsterdam via direct high-speed link.
As of now, the plan includes two services a day between London and Amsterdam. The journey will take 4 hours and will run via Brussels, stopping at Antwerp, Rotterdam, Schiphol airport and Amsterdam Centraal.
The project aims to increase the scope of rail destinations for travellers to mainland Europe. It also aims to give the 3 million airline passengers between London and Amsterdam a more convenient alternative.
