Facebook helps dying German unite with Daughters
Many people use Facebook to get in touch with long lost friends. Once again, the power of Facebook is being put to the test as an appeal by an severely ill man in Germany has been turned viral by around 50,000 users of the social networking site.
Sixty-five-year-old Peter-Otto Möller wants to see his daughters before he dies. This is why he placed an ad in the commercial newspaper Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung (WAZ) with the help of the staff in his care home House Vivo in Wuppertal. The ad is an appeal to his daughters Sabine and Gabriele to get in touch.
A sympathetic woman then helped jumpstart the online search for the daughters after uploading a photo of the ad on Facebook. The photo has been so far liked 54,000 times.
The care home’s press office DRC sisterhood Wuppertal confirmed the ad as genuine and added that the help through Facebook was solely the work of a committed citizen of Wuppertal.
If you would also like to help Peter-Otto be reunited with his daughters, then don’t hesitate to share this news.
