FilCom in Switzerland Supports the Zuellig Family Foundation’s Health Care Program

The Filipino Community Network of Canton Berne handed over to the Philippine Embassy its donation that will benefit Filipinos in Samar through a partnership with the Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF) in the Philippines last September 11.

In turn, Philippine Ambassador to Switzerland Leslie J. Baja turned over the donation, which amounts to CHF 5,000.00 (Swiss Francs), to ZFF President Ernesto Garilao on September 28.

The donation was sourced from a fundraising project during the celebration of the 114th anniversary of Philippine independence held on June 9 in Berne.

The Philippine Embassy and the Filipino Community Network Berne worked hand in hand to support the Health Care program of the ZFF. Two barangays in Samar will be beneficiaries of two sea ambulances to be purchased with this particular contribution.

Since 2009, ZFF has partnered with 30 municipalities in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and the non-ARMM priority provinces under its Community Health Partnership Program (CHPP).

ZFF is engaged in two-to-three-year partnerships with rural municipalities in providing leadership training and capacity-building programs to local leaders, empowering them to improve governance for health and assume ownership and accountability for health issues and outcomes. ZFF then helps these leaders to create institutional arrangements involving broad participation of various stakeholders to support a more responsive health care delivery system.
