by FFE Entertainment News Staff

Gary Valenciano is known as Mr. Pure Energy due to his electric performances onstage and earlier this week, he showed just how much he puts into his acts, this time,  before the victims of typhoon Yolanda.

A team of celebrity artists led by Gary himself brought joy to the victims  in a free concert at the Ormoc Superdome on Tuesday afternoon.

“For those who have relatives in Ormoc, let them know I hope to encourage them on Tue. I’ll be there for them…I’ll be there for u,” Gary tweeted a day before the concert.

The concert titled Tindog Leyte, tindog meaning stand in Cebuano, included other performers such as Erik Santos, Candy Pangilinan, and Giselle Tongi.

Despite the crisis they are facing, the residents of Ormoc welcomed the team and were delighted by the concert. Gary expressed his admiration to the residents and pledged to reach other disaster areas in the future.

“Today’s 1 day I shall nevr evr 4get. Thank u Ormoc for the amount of inspiration u hav placed in my heart. I will go reach othr places soon,” Gary said. “What a day! Today the Filipino spirit was so alive and was evident in what I saw first hand in Ormoc. What an experience.”

Erik Santos, who also went to Ormoc, said he is grateful for the opportunity not only to perform with Mr. Pure Energy but also the chance to cheer the typhoon victims.

“Nakaka bless po talaga yung show kanina. Sana maulit muli!” Erik tweeted.

The concert last Tuesday was not Gary’s most recent effort to help the survivors. With other artists including Jericho Rosales, Yeng Constantino, son Paolo Valenciano, and wife Angeli Pangilinan, Gary heads a group of carolers with the proceeds to be used for the benefit of the Yolanda victims.
