Hunt for car thief abruptly ends across the border after shocking Find
A fearful cross-border hunt for a car thief last Friday turned into a happy ending for a mum in Germany after the thief surrendered to police in Kerkrade, the Netherlands.
What’s the reason behind the thief’s sudden change of heart? He discovered the mum’s two girls, aged 2 and 3, sleeping at the back of the car.
The 33-year-old man stole the woman’s car in Herzogenrath, Germany after finding the key in the ignition. The woman left her car momentarily to buy ice cream.
Once the man crossed the border to Kerkrade, he discovered the woman’s two kids fast asleep on the back seat. This prompted him to surrender to the nearest police station. Meanwhile, German cops were already mounting a search for the car when they were alerted by Dutch police of the find.
The mother was reunited with her kids immediately, who seemed to have no clue about what had happened.
