Ikea issues warning over kid’s bed design flaw

Swedish furniture company Ikea has issued a warning to buyers of Kritter and Sniglar children’s beds. This comes after reports have been made of a possible design flaw that could lead to injury.

IKEA is the largest furniture retailer in the world

Ikea is sending out alerts to customers who have bought Kritter beds with article number 600.904.70 and with a date stamp number between 1114 and 1322 and Sniglar children’s beds with article number 500.871.66 and date stamp numbers between 1114 and 1318. The countries affected are Belgium, Britain, Czech Republic, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland.

Those who have bought these beds are advised to call their local Ikea store or contact customer service at 088/15.003. Customers with these beds will be given a free repair kit. The bed’s article number can be found on the headboard or underneath the bed.

Accounts have mentioned that a metal rod on the bed frame can break, exposing kids to cuts and other injury. Despite the flaw, no incidences of injury have been reported.
