Isabelle Daza’s journey as an Actress
by FFE Entertainment News Staff
Isabelle Daza started off as model when she was 16 and has slowly made her way to showbiz prominence. She proved that she is a talented host through her stint in ‘Eat Bulaga!’ But, lately, Isabelle is making yet another transition to becoming a serious actress.
The 25-year-old host-model and budding actress has been playing eclectic roles both in the big and small screen. Last year, Isabelle starred alongside John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo in ‘It Takes A Man and a Woman’ as Belle, the girlfriend of John Lloyd’s character. The film went on to become one of the highest-grossing films in the Philippines.
Also in 2013, Isabelle was part of the controversial independent film ‘Lihis,’ a story about two guerrilla soldiers, played by Jake Cuenca and Joem Bascon, who fell in love with each other. She was praised for the important role she played in the film, that of a history teacher trying to uncover the mystery surrounding her father’s death.
After playing a glamorous woman in ‘It Takes a Man and a Woman’ and a public school teacher in Lihis, Isabelle is showing her versatility as an actress this 2014 as she plays a woman who falls in love with another woman in an upcoming ‘Magpakailanman’ episode.
In her Instagram account, the Eat Bulaga! host shared a still from a scene in the episode.
‘Taping for Magpakailanman: the true story of Clemen (me) a poor waitress who fell inlove with a wealthy lesbian, Jing (@chynsortaleza) who’s parents do not accept her. Very challenging role this Saturday na!’ said Isabelle last Tuesday.
Joining Isabelle is fellow Kapuso actress Chynna Ortaleza, who will play the role of Jing. Veteran actors Gloria Romero, Susan Africa and John Arcilla are also part of the episode that will air on Saturday night, 15 February.
Magpakailanman is an anthology of real-life stories aired every Saturday in GMA7.
