Jellyfish mishap a blessing in disguise for Anne amid Controversy
Anne Curtis was rushed to St Luke’s Medical Centre at the Bonifacio Global City yesterday after suffering pain from jellyfish stings during the taping of her hit teleserye ‘Dyesebel.’
When news reached fans in Twitter, they immediately sent their well-wishes using the hashtag #PrayForAnneCurtis. But apart from being a testament to their concern for their favourite star, the trending news also serves as a blessing in disguise for Anne who is currently in the middle of a controversial spat with actor-singer Sam Concepcion.
Earlier this week, Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) released a story detailing an alleged verbal assault made by Anne to Sam during Vice Ganda’s birthday party last 31 March. The spat is said to come from the alleged disloyalty of Sam to his girlfriend and Anne’s sister Jasmine Curtis-Smith. This incident is reminiscent of the bar confrontation involving John Lloyd Cruz last year.

Anne has denied the spat with Sam, saying that she and Sam ‘are ok.’ However, silence from Sam’s camp has only added more mystery to the story.
But the latest accident that occurred in Batangas has drawn attention away from the issue and toward Anne’s condition. Dreamscape AdProm Head Eric John Salut said that the box jellyfish stings have caused ‘agony’ to Anne who was left ‘writhing in pain.’
However, Salut noted that even under that kind of pressure Anne still maintained her professionalism and was concerned about the consequences of the sting for her tapings: ‘[she was] even worried yesterday… na baka ma delay ang taping and siya ang reason.’ Salut added that the actress insisted on shooting more scenes after being stung.
Stings leave marks on Anne’s torso
Salut said that Anne is now doing fine with the help of medications: ‘We have yet to receive final word from the medical team as to ilang days she can recover and [until] the rashes and the pain disappear. But as of today Anne Curtis is safe in the hospital under utmost medical care and supervision.’
Anne’s Twitter messages thanking friends and fans for their concern is proof that she is doing okay after the sting and amid the controversies: ‘Good Morning everyone!!!! Feeling a bit better today! Thank you Lord for giving me and my heart the strength to survive this. Thank you to everyone that has sent their well wishes. Means a lot to me. This is the closest I’ve ever been to death and I’ve never been so afraid in my life.’
‘Thank you again Sweethearts for all the love & support.’
