If you’re single and living in Paris, better pack your bags because the City of Lights may not be the best place for you to meet the love of your life.
A study by the magazine Linternaute revealed on Wednesday that the singles capital of France is Lille, which is known for its nightlife and large student population. The magazine used data from national statistics agency Insee to study 40 towns and cities in France, mapping out which ones had the biggest percentage of singles.
Lille was rated at 60.2% with 115,547 singles out of the 191,925 total adult population. Nancy came next with 59.5% followed by student city Rennes with 57%. Toulouse, Bordeaux and Rouen were in the top ten. Paris, meanwhile, got 17th place.
The study revealed that out of 1,922,108 adults living in Paris, only 996,608 were single.
