For Luis, it’s the little things that Count
Filipino men love to make their women feel kilig by giving unexpected gifts and sweeping them off their feet. Luis Manzano is that kind of man for his girlfriend Angel Locsin.
Luis, a self-proclaimed ‘hopeless romantic,’ said he was even ‘more romantic and expressive than Angel’ when they dated two years ago. But now that they have given each other another chance at love, Luis admitted that Angel is catching up: ‘Ngayon, humahabol na siya.’
‘She’s the type who hardly holds her cell phone. Now, she sends me text messages as soon as she wakes up or when she gets home. She makes effort to tell me how her day went.’
Spending quality time with each other also makes him feel romantic:
It’s these little things that are important for Luis. They may be small gestures by Angel, but they show what she values and that she is willing to go out of her way to meet him.
What makes Luis feel extra kilig is when he sees how much Angel fits well with the rest of his family. He recounted their recent meeting with his mother, Governor Vilma Santos: ‘My mom said something like, “Welcome back to your home.”
‘I just sat back and watched them. I didn’t want to intrude; it looked like they were making up for lost time.’
Luis said he also wants to bond with Angel’s father, Angelo Colmenares.
Does spending time with each other’s family mean that wedding bells will soon toll for Angel and Luis? The 32-year-old actor admitted that all their friends are now tying the knot. However, he said he isn’t rushing into it. In fact, Luis revealed he and Angel haven’t really laid out anything yet.
But one thing’s for sure: all these romantic encounters are nudging Luis toward finally popping the question. He’s keeping it a secret though, and we may never know what kilig moment he plans to do for Angel until it happens: ‘I can’t give details.’
