Maalaala Mo Kaya up for an Emmy Award

The ABS CBN show Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) has bagged a nomination in the 41st International Emmy Awards.
MMK is up against France’s Les Revenants (Rebound), Next in Line by TV Globo in Brazil, and UK’s Accused under the Drama Series category.
MMK is presented by Charo Santos-Concio and it features stories based on real- life experiences from common and famous people alike. In a span of 23 years, MMK has become the longest drama anthology series in the Philippines in Asia.
Piolo Pascual and Bea Alonzo played Ninoy and Cory Aquino in a special MMK episode.
This year’s International Emmys has nominees in 19 countries including other EU countries like Germany, Belgium, and Sweden. It has 36 nominees in a total of nine categories.
The International Emmy winners will be determined by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, its members “comprised of leading media and entertainment figures from over 50 countries and 500 companies from all sectors of television including internet, mobile, and technology.”
The winners will be announced on November 25 at the Hilton Hotel in New York.
