People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao has arrived in Macau with wife Jinkee and the rest of Team Pacquiao yesterday, five days before his fight against American Boxer Brandon Rios on 24 November.
Pacquiao’s chartered flight that left General Santos City at 3pm made a stopover in Manila to pick up members of Team Pacquiao before arriving at the Macau International Airport on Monday night.
‘The Clash in Cotai’ is Pacquiao’s first fight in 2013 after taking an 11-month break from boxing.
The 34-year-old boxer said that he is offering his fight against 27-year-old Rios to the victims of typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines. He added that regardless of the outcome of the fight, he will donate a part of his income to aid the victims.
While Manny is accompanied by his wife Jinkee who is three months pregnant with their fifth child, Rios brought his dad in Macau to witness the biggest fight of his career.
Rios said his dad’s presence in the fight will inspire him to win.
“I’m hungry, I’m young, I want the success,” Rios told sports reporter Dyan Castillejo.
When he was asked how he plans to beat Pacquiao, Rios said he either needs to knock out the Pambansang Kamao or win very convincingly.
The Pacquiao vs. Rios fight will be held at the Cotai Arena in The Venetian Macao Resort, 10am on 24 November. It will be televised live via HBO Pay-Per-View on 23 Saturday 9pm in the US.
