According to Forbes, Manny Pacquiao remains to be on the list of the world’s 100 most powerful celebrities. The list includes Oprah Winfrey, Lady Gaga, and Robert Downey Jr.
But the re-elected Saranggani representative’s 78th ranking is a big slide from his 33rd place in 2012. Oprah Winfrey, meanwhile, regains her No. 1 spot after placing second for two consecutive years. Lady Gaga is No. 2.
Pacquiao, who suffered a brutal one-punch knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez on December 8, is ahead of internationally-renowned author J.K. Rowling of the Harry Potter series (82nd) and fellow boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. (88th).
He trails behind film director and writer Christopher Nolan (76th), who directed The Dark Knight trilogy and Inception, author Stephen King (75th), and actress Gwyneth Paltrow (71st), who starred in the Iron Man movies series.
In terms of money, Pacquiao ranks 57th for his $34 million estimated total gross income from June 1 last year up to this year. He is tied at 57 with Mayweather.
In terms of media exposure, Pacquiao places 82nd in TV/Radio rank and 81st in Press ranking. He trails behind host Ryan Seacrest at 71 and actress Sandra Bullock at 75 in the Press ranking.
Pacquiao is tied at 60 with singer Rihanna, champion runner Usain Bolt, and actor Charlie Sheen in the Marketability rankings. The marketability rank “is a measure of how desirable each celebrity is to marketers,” according to Forbes.
In terms of the Social ranking, Pacquiao (56th) ranks higher than business mogul Donal Trump (59th), musician Jay-Z (66th), and actor Robert Downey Jr. who starred in the Iron Man movie series.
The Celebrity 100 measures money and fame, which includes estimated earnings over the last 12 months, and how often each celebrity is mentioned in print and on TV.
