May brings lots of blessings to Sarah Geronimo
Sarah Geronimo is blessed four times this month with good news left and right on her career and love life.
Box Office Queen
Sarah was named ‘Box Office Queen’ early this week at the 45th Box Office Entertainment Awards by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation (GMMSF). This proves that Sarah is the leading lady to beat in the big screen.
She took home the award for her phenomenal portrayal of Laida opposite John Lloyd Cruz’s Miggy in the film ‘It Takes a Man and a Woman.’ The film is one of the highest grossing movies of 2013.
Aside from the Box Office Queen award, Sarah also won ‘Female Concert Performer of the Year’ for her 10th anniversary concert ‘Perfect 10’ on 15 November 2013 and ‘Female Recording Artist of the Year’ for her successful album ‘Expressions.’
The Voice Kids
Sarah will be making a comeback on ‘The Voice of the Philippines,’ this time as coach and mentor to kids who want to be singing sensations.
The mentor said her roles as judge, critic and coach for kids are extra difficult because kids are more sensitive to talk to. ‘Yan ang pinakamahirap na part ng trabaho namin. Kung paano ‘yong pag-explain sa kanila bakit kami hindi umikot… may mga umiyak, mahirap.’
In The Voice, the judges spin around on their chairs whenever they choose to coach a singer.
Despite the heartbreak for kids who don’t make it past auditions, Sarah said she is looking forward to coming face to face with children who love to sing: ‘Honestly different sila sa age nila, ‘yong pagiging competitive talagang pantay lang sa matatanda. Talagang makikita mo ‘yong energy nila at passion nila for music.’
The Voice Kids starts airing this Saturday.
Maybe This Time
Aside from her TV show, Sarah’s fans are also looking forward to the opening day of her latest movie ‘Maybe This Time’ this 28 May. Sarah shares the silver screen with Teleserye King Coco Martin in this summer love story about rekindling past love:
Gathering from the buzz generated by Twitter and Facebook fans in anticipation of the movie, it seems Sarah will be having another hit film to be proud of.
Judy Ann supports AshMatt
Sarah got top support from ‘big sis’ actress Judy Ann Santos when the latter advised media and the public to leave Sarah and Matteo Guidicelli be.
The press was aflame with questions after Judy Ann’s hubby Ryan Agoncillo posted this photo of the foursome in Instagram last weekend:
Judy Ann was super protective of her ‘little sis’ Sarah and steered away from giving too-revealing answers on the real score about AshMatt during the PEPList Awards yesterday night. She blurted out ‘Ayokong magsalita! Bakit ako ang tinatanong niyo?’ when asked to comment on the two.
Later on she said ‘they respect each other. We have to respect whatever privacy they want. Let them be. They deserve it and wag masyadong i-pressure. Pag may pressure kasi walang nagiging magandang bunga.
‘Hintayin natin. Matatanda naman na sila. I’m sure time will come na sasabihin din nila kung ano ang dapat sabihin.’
On a positive note, to those who still wonder about the real status of Sarah and Matt, Judy Ann did begin the interview by saying ‘rumoured ba?’
