Mayweather doffs Pacquiao Anew

In a Thursday interview with Fighthype.com , American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr said he and Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao are not on the same level.
Mayweather said ‘You know, a lot of times, it’s hard to make fights… when you got a guy that when they keep trying to say, this guy Pacquiao is on the same level as Floyd Mayweather, I say, well, me, honestly, in my eyes, that’s not true.’ Talks about a possible Mayweather-Pacquiao bout reignited after Manny won against Brandon Rios in 17 November.
Manny on the other hand said he’s ready and willing to fight anybody. Manny said ‘My job is to fight and I will fight anybody who will fight me. I am willing to fight Floyd so it’s up to him.’
But when it comes to pay-per-view edge, Manny still has a lot to cover. His bout with Rios in Macau only generated 450,000 PPV buys, paling in comparison to the 1.15 million his bout with Juan Manuel Marquez in 2012 generated.
Mayweather also has the edge in PPV numbers. His fight against Saul Canelo last September drew 2.2 million buys. He said ‘My pay-per-view number still is the best of any fighter in the history of the sport.’ Pacquiao draws more commercial endorsements in the Philippines and the United States, but Mayweather said endorsements ‘don’t define greatness.’
The undefeated 36-year-old boxer said ‘I didn’t need a Nike check on my back, I didn’t need a Nike Commercial. I didn’t need a Hennessy commercial. But still, once we did our homework, we look at the numbers, Floyd didn’t need Nike. I never needed Nike or Hennesy, to run me a hundred thousand commercials, ‘cause that still don’t define greatness.’
