Following the devastating effects that supertyphoon Yolanda left the Philippines last week, emergency aid from the global community have been pouring in for the victims and the Miss World Organization has also pledged to join in the efforts.
“The Miss World charity, Beauty With A Purpose, has made the decision to direct all of its fundraising efforts into supporting the people of the Philippines,” The Miss World Organization announced on Thursday.
A series of fundraising events from 19-21 November will be held in New York, New Jersey and Los Angeles for the benefits of families in the affected areas.

Current Miss World title holder and Filipina Megan Young will also be auctioning dresses she used during the pageant including her National Dress Costume and the gown she wore when she was crowned Miss World in Bali last September.
“My fellow Filipinos are so wonderful and strong but they desperately need help to get through this disaster… I hope that I can help out as much as I can through my role as Miss World and through Beauty With A Purpose where 100% of the money raised goes straight to those who need it.
I am praying for my country and my people,” Megan said.
Antique, the hometown of Megan’s mother, has also been badly affected by Yolanda.
Megan is set to fly back to the Philippines on 27 November to personally bring all funds raised in the US for the Filipino victims.
