A certified matinee idol, Paulo Avelino is also an award-winning actor, thanks to his role in the independent film Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa that won him the Best Actor at the Gawad Urian Award given by the Filipino Film Critics. With his good looks and superb acting ability, Paulo Avelino is certainly a leading man material.
Back in 2013, he starred in his first leading role in the daytime drama Kahit Konting Pagtingin with Sam Milby and Angeline Quinto but fans might best remember Paulo as the somewhat psychopathic Nathan Montenegro in 2012’s Walang Hanggan, who played the bad news in Coco Martin and Julia Montes’ love story in the show.
This year, the 25-year-old actor is upping the ante as he is slated to play Bea Alonzo’s love interest in a new ABS- CBN show.
Paulo and Bea’s team up in the primetime show titled Sana Bukas Ang Kahapon was announced in a press conference last 9 January.
Susan Roces, Anita Linda, Dina Bonnevie, Albert Martinez, and Iza Calzado will be joining Paulo and Bea to complete the all-star cast.
Sana Bukas Ang Kahapon’s storyline is not yet revealed since the cast has yet to start taping next month.
Paulo recently starred in his first Star Cinema movie, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) horror entry Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay. He is also currently in the primetime show Honesto.
