Ryzza Mae spreads ‘Cha-cha fever’ in Canada
Bubbly, assertive and cute child actress Ryzza Mae Dizon has got tons of fans all over the Philippines, cementing her popularity with appearances in the iconic variety show ‘Eat Bulaga’ and her own morning talk show ‘The Ryzza Mae Show.’ But her second trip abroad showed that her explosive effect on stage may just be at its infancy.
Ryzza, 8, was with the cast and crew of Eat Bulaga, the ‘Dabarkads,’ in Toronto, Canada for a concert show at the SonyCenter for the Performing Arts. Her reception by 3,000 Fil-Canadian fans when she appeared on stage to dance Cha-cha had been phenomenal, triggering feverish cheering and applause:
However, her appeal as a performer didn’t only attract Filipinos. She revealed in an interview with The Philippine Daily Inquirer that one night, ‘blonde’ fans turned up in her hotel while she was already in her pyjamas: ‘Tinanong ko po sila: “Do you watch my shows?” Sabi nila: “You’re amazing!”’
These new fans gave her all manner of gifts, including stuffed toys, chocolates, snacks, candies and more.

Ryzza isn’t only loved by many because of her personality and looks. She is also very accommodating of her fans. Last year, ‘Aling Maliit’ took a break from her busy schedule to meet with a 4-year-old fan who flew all the way from Abu Dhabi just to see her.
Denise was rendered speechless after seeing her idol, but Ryzza coaxed her out of her shell although the actress mentioned she had a hard time speaking English: ‘Nosebleed po ’to, nosebleed!’ she joked.
The ‘Cha-cha fever’ instantly caught by fans in Canada shows that Ryzza Mae has the power to attract people from other parts of the world. Her growing fan base, though mostly Pinoy, may soon lead to more appreciation from foreigners of her talent and unique personality.
