Are you still using last season’s sunglasses?
Not sure which sunglasses are in fashion this season? Is it the huge over sized sunglasses or is it Tom Cruise’s ray ban ? Confused? You are not alone I sometimes suffer from that confusion too. But you need not join the club of confused fashionista not knowing which is in and out! Check out the trending sunglasses churned out by leading fashion designers in their 2015 Spring-Summer collection.
I would categorize my choices of this season’s sunglasses into three: Aviator, round and cat-eye sunglasses.
Avaiator sunglasses or aviators for short are still a must have this season. Originally developed by Bausch & Lomb it is now marketed as Ray-Ban Aviators, although other manufacturers also produce aviator style sunglasses among them the Linda Farrows gold plated aviators.
Which are crafted in Japan from 24kt gold-plated metal, and finished with reflective gold lenses. It is a bit pricey at around €863 a piece.
A cheaper option for aviators sunglasses is Smoke & Mirrors sunglasses, at around €266
An even cheaper choice is Alice Revo’s that’s available from Topshop at around € 18
Valentino has its own version of aviators which it calls Maskaviator with the 60’s iconic shape features in a metal frame with rounded teardrop green lenses. It has the touch of the 60’s but with a contemporary finish.
Ralph Lauren’s aviators are with pilot-shaped lenses. These equestrian-inspired sunglasses feature polished “Ralph Lauren”–engraved stirrup-shaped details with leather tabs.
Most round sunglasses remind me of Harry Potter. But round glasses are not his monopoly. If you have a square shaped face, round glasses will help deflect attention from your more pronounced jaw line and even out proportions. But if your forehead, cheekbones and jaw line are equally balanced, round glasses can be very flattering on your as well.
Dolce & Gabbana round Sunglasses are acetate rounded sunglass characterized by the Animalier print, an iconic Dolce&Gabbana print. Metal details in gold color and silver mirror lenses at around € 204
Valentino’s Round Plum sunglasses. I like Valentino’s round sunglasses simply because its so chic and simple. € 294
Van Nouten Round Sunglasses have rounded lenses and slim frame sides. The glasses feature a gently arched bridge and a ‘Key hole’ detail, they costs around €460
Ralph Lauren’s round sunglasses
With ultra-mod round sunglasses featuring a striking color-blocked design and a classic Greek-key pattern with the sleek silver-toned “RL” monogram.
Cat eye sunglasses
These cat eye sunglasses will make you standout in a crowd. It reminds me of Audrey Hepburn and Marily Monroe who contributed greatly in the all time popularity of cat eye sunglasses. If you love unending, admiring or envious look this is the choice for you. This would never fail to get you the second look from people you meet. However try it on first and see if it suits the shape of you face because more often than not cat-eye glasses suit ladies with a heart-shaped face because this helps to accentuate the cheekbones.
Fendi’s cat eye are very popular because of its varied designs.
Ralph Lauren’s cat eye
There you go my friends. Enjoy the lovely summer while it lasts and don’t forget to get yourself one of these lovely eye protection goggles. I would be back next time with the sunglasses for the gents.
