Tesda gives scholarship to honest Pinoy
Jony Villon, a trolley retriever who works at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1, has just been awarded a scholarship by national skills development centre Tesda for his good deed.
Last 28 January, Jony found in the parking area an envelope containing $4,800 or around Php218k in cash. But he did not give in to the temptation and instead surrendered the money to his superiors, who then contacted the owner.
The owner was said to have given Jony money enough for snacks as a reward. But the story so moved Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) director general Joel Villanueva that he vowed to give Jony a scholarship in any technical course as a reward for his deed.
Tesda will award Jony the scholarship vouchers today, proving that good always begets good.
