Japanese automaker Toyota has just made five vehicle recalls yesterday that covers 27 models.
In an email to The Manila Bulletin, Toyota said that the total number of cars that have to be recalled is 6.39 million. Among the problems found include a driver’s seat problem, steering bracket defects and glitches in the engine starter that could lead to fire.
Toyota clarified that the reports of defects they received have not led to any accident.
Some of the models affected by the recall include the Corolla sedan, RAV4 SUV and the Yaris subcompact and sedan made between 2004 and 2013. For a summary of all the vehicles included in the recall, visit CNN Money or Toyota.
The vehicles to be recalled include around 770,000 units in Europe. Toyota said it will provide free inspection and repair programmes for owners affected by the recall. Toyota can be reached through their Recall Helpline on 0800 1388744.
The latest recalls comes after a series of vehicle recalls Toyota has released over the past years, affecting the automaker’s reputation for safety and quality.
