Vatican guards confirm Pope sneaking out at Night

For some nights now, Pope Francis has been leaving the Vatican in disguise. The reason behind his midnight excursions has been connected to his recent criticism or Apostolic Exhortation of society’s treatment of the homeless, part of an 84-page document released by the Vatican last week.
In the exhortation, the Pope lamented ‘How can it be that it is not a news item when an elderly homeless person dies of exposure, but it is news when the stock market loses two points?
‘It is essential to draw near to new forms of poverty and vulnerability … even if this appears to bring us no tangible and immediate benefits.’
An unnamed source reported that ‘Swiss guards confirmed that the pope has ventured out at night.’ The source added that the pope comes out at night ‘dressed as a regular priest, to meet with homeless men and women.’
Suspicions as to the pope’s excursions first sparked when Archbishop Konrad Krajewski, the papal almoner or the person in charge of distributing money to the poor, mentioned that ‘When I say to him [the Pope] “I’m going out into the city this evening”, there’s the constant risk that he will come with me.’
The archbishop has refused to comment further on his statement. However, he has said that long before Francis was elected the pontifical head in Vatican, the pope visited Buenos Aires locals at night in disguise. He said then archbishop Francis ‘would go out at night … to find people, talk with them, or buy them something to eat. He would sit with them and eat with them on the street.’
