Vhong not ready to forgive; wants Cornejo and Lee Jailed
Vhong Navarro has been finally released from St Luke’s Hospital yesterday after spending almost two weeks recovering from the injuries he got last 22 January.
Navarro left the hospital with his lawyer Alma Mallonga and policemen in a convoy and headed straight to the Department of Justice (DOJ) to submit supplemental affidavit against Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee.
The 37-year-old actor had previously filed six charges against Cornejo, Lee and six others last 28 January, including blackmail, serious illegal detention, serious physical injuries, grave threat, grave coercion and unlawful arrest.
The additional affidavits filed by Navarro included alleged text messages from Lee to him on 23 and 24 January. In the text messages, Lee told Navarro to pay for the damages made in Cornejo’s condominium unit in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig where the mauling of the actor took place. In one of the texts was the account number where Navarro should deposit the damages that amounted to P1 million.
Images from the CCTV footage of the building and photos of Cornejo’s unit taken by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) were also part of the affidavit.
Meanwhile, despite the trauma he went through, the ‘It’s Showtime’ host said he should toughen up to get the justice he wanted.
‘Kelangan kong harapin yung takot para may justice na mangyari… Kung di ako magsasalita, pwede pong maulit. Pwede po nilang ulitin,’ said Navarro.
In an interview with 24 Oras, the actor said it’s not one of his options to forgive Cornejo and Lee.
‘Mahirap magpatawad… masyado pong masakit yung po ginawa nila sa akin at alam po nila yun wala akong ginagawa sa kanila,’ said Navarro.
He added that someone should be jailed for the suffering he went through and insisted that his girlfriend is the only one he wronged during the whole incident.
‘Sabi po ni Deniece wala po siyang boyfriend. Kung may nagawa po akong kasalanan, dun lang sa girlfriend ko, at inaamin ko po na nagkasala ko ako sa kanya,’ said Navarro.
When asked what his message was to his supporters, an emotional Navarro said ‘Maraming maraming salamat po sa lahat po ng dasal at paniniwala niyo po sa akin at hindi niyo po ako hinuhusgahan.’
