‘Wardrobing’ phenomenon taking over Britain
by FFE EU News staff
A new fashion trend is sweeping Britain, and you may not even know that it has already hit you.
‘Wardrobing’ is the act of buying an outfit, wearing and returning it with the label still attached. A survey by vouchercodes.co.uk revealed that one in six Brits practice this trend. Wardrobing is also a regular practice among one in 10 across the country.
The survey also revealed that this trend occurs more likely when shoppers want to dress to impress such as in weddings and interviews.
More women than men have also confessed to this act. 9% of those surveyed even added that they targeted clothes with tags that are pinned while 20% admit to spraying the garments with fresheners before returning them.
Giving outfits ‘a trial run’ isn’t only affecting the average Brit. Even celebs like Lady Gaga and Lindsey Lohan have used clothes only to return them — often even torn and damaged.
