by FFE Entertainment News Staff

Jake Cuenca’s role in the movie ‘When the Love is Gone’ does not only prove the actor’s versatility but it also shows how he loves to play challenging roles.

When asked why he took on the role of Cristine Reyes’ gay husband in the movie, Jake said he likes to keep his fans guessing.

“It wasn’t a role people would expect me to do… I like surprising the audience… Leaving them guessing what’s next,” Jake said in his twitter. “It was challenging ‘cause it wasn’t me.”

The movie, patterned from the 1983 classic ‘Nagalit ang Buwan Sa Haba ng Gabi’, also stars Gabby Concepcion, Alice Dixson and Andi Eigenmann.

Jake seems to nail the role of Cristine’s indignant husband who she left for Gabby’s character as his fans send positive feedbacks on his acting.

Although initially scared of the public’s reaction on the homosexual theme of the movie, the 25-year-old actor said he had no hesitations when he accepted the role and even called Lihis his dream project as the script was written by Ricky Lee and directed by Joel Lamangan.
