Which European cities are the most Welcoming?
By FFE EU News Staff
Holiday home rental website HouseTrip.com has rated the top EU cities that give the warmest welcome to travellers. The website used 130,000 of their users’ city reviews and came up with 7 cities which were the most generous with their welcomes:
HouseTrip.com said that the factors the count for a good welcome are difficult to pinpoint. CEO Arnaud Bertrand said ‘Budapest is a consistently good option because costs are so low.
‘Travellers feel like they get what they pay for … which leads to them feeling happier and more satisfied with their stay.’
Though Budapest scored highest for the whole year, Paris was the most hospitable in spring, Rome in summer, Amsterdam in autumn and Berlin in winter. While warm welcomes are not usually equated to freezing winters, the website explains that ‘friendly locals and cozy bars mean our guests love the [Berlin] experience.’
Lisbon was the best place for travellers who are bringing their pets along for the journey. Meanwhile, couple travellers are most welcome in Paris while solo travellers will find plenty of room to have fun in Madrid.
