Witness a very different KC Concepcion in Boy Golden
by FFE Entertainment News Staff
KC Concepcion is a proof that we can achieve our goals in life through hard work and dedication. After a grueling four months of shooting the movie Boy Golden: the Arturo Porcuna Story, KC has expressed satisfaction with the movie’s outcome.
“Thank you Lord God at after 4 months, natapos narin ng maayos ang aming movie. Good things come to those who wait. Love u all,” KC said.
In her Instagram, the 28-year-old actress shared how the cast and crew of Boy Golden devoted their time and effort to finish the highly- anticipated action movie.
“We did it!!! Just shot our opening scene. Finally finished shooting our movie! It’s a WRAP, #BoyGolden!”
“Thank u to our amazing DOP @dcarlomen sa super astig + beautiful cinematography dito sa #BoyGolden… Gusto ko na syang mapanood sa silver screen!
“Thankful for the chance to have done this film with our brilliant director Chito Roño. A Living legend of Philippine Cinema!”
Some of the acclaimed movies in Roño’s resume include Yamashita: The Tiger’s Treasure, Dekada ’70, Caregiver, and Bata bata… Paano ka Ginawa?
Boy Golden is based on the life of the notorious gangster Arturo “Boy Golden” Porcuna. George “E.R.” Estregan plays the title role with KC as his leading lady, but not the damsel-in-distress kind.
From the trailer alone, we witness a provocative, gun-wielding, and punch-throwing KC Concepcion; definitely different from previous roles she played.
KC’s co-star in the movie John “Sweet” Lapus commends how the actress handled the demanding role in Boy Golden.
“Iyak, tawa, baril, tumbling, split, sayaw, takbo. @kc_concepcion for Best Actress. Napaka husay!!!” Sweet tweeted.
George “E.R.” Estregan also saw the potential in KC’s acting prowess in this movie when he expressed confidence that his leading lady has a big chance of winning the lead actress award in the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
“Malaki ang laban ni KC sa best actress award! Sulit itong project para sa kanya,” the actor/politician said in an interview.

Boy Golden will be showing on Christmas Day and is one of the eight entries in the MMFF this year. Other movies in the festival include My Little Bossings with Kris Aquino and Vic Sotto, Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy starring Vice Ganda, and Pedro Calungsod: Ang Batang Martir with Rocco Nacino playing the Filipino saint.
