World recycling day features 45,000 milk carton pavilion
If the Guinness Book of World Records is an influencing factor in being green, so be it. This “Tetra Brik” Pavilion in Spain holds the title for “The largest major construction built from recycled materials.” Utilizing 45,000 of the emptied milk cartons, World Recycling Day served multiple functions its latest time around.
Each carton was clipped to the other at a 135 degree angle, and once all of the fun of these multiple constructed pieces was done with– all 45,000 were transported and recycled. CUACS Arquitectura and plenty of student based design help was garnered within the process, to create the wall, base, and the tower to connect the two. (By Rachel)
